Yoga Straps - How to use them?

With most yoga studios moving to online classes during the pandemic, more and more people are equipping their homes with yoga props. The Yoga Strap is a great prop that teaches alignment in basic poses as well as makes more complex poses accessible to beginners as well as senior practitioners.

In the video below, I have demos of different types of yoga straps available and how to effectively use them in your practice.

With quite a few of us working from home in less than perfect ergonomic conditions, tight shoulders and issues caused by bad posture are common. To align your shoulders after a long day at work, you can try a simple use of yoga straps from one of my old videos.

Please remember that these video is not to show all the possible uses of the strap in yoga. That list is endless. It is merely to give some guidance to those students who are not familiar with the use of them and the various types of closures and lengths that are available and how to loop, buckle or connect them so they don't slip during your use. It can be confusing and frustrating. I hope this helps.
